Story
I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2020 at the age of 37. In March 2020 I had a large piece of my bowel removed, and a temporary ileostomy to allow my body to recover. After surgery I had 6 months of chemotherapy, and in January this year had my ileostomy reversed. My plumbing is now back to 'normal'! As of January 2021 I am cancer free and plan to stay that way.
Bowel cancer is a disease that is affecting more and more young people, and i was lucky to catch mine before it spread. But more money is needed to find a cure and better treatments. Your support will help stop people dying of bowel cancer by funding vital services and lifesaving research.
UPDATE: I am running the Penshurst Place colour run with my boys Arthur and Bruce, 3.5km, on 27th June. They want to help raise money for this important charity so please be generous 😄
UPDATE 2: My employer Barclays has agreed to match all donations!! So an extra reason to dig deep 😉
UPDATE 3: My amazing wife Gem is swimming 1.9km through Hever lake as part of Hever Castle's Festival of Endurance on 4th July for this important cause. What an awesome challenge. I'm very proud of all of them!
UPDATE 4: Completed my first competitive half marathon on Sunday 5th September in 1hr 47m. Beat my target of 1hr 50m but frustrated as had energy left at the end and could have gone quicker! 4 weeks to the big one...
UPDATE 5: Marathon done! Completed in 3hr 54min, so beat my target! Loved it until the last few miles. Thanks for all the amazing support
