Story
The Ironman is BACK ON... well sort of!
After being interrupted by COVID 3 times, we have a new date and new event on 18th July in EASTBOURNE, United Kingdom!
In 2012, my best friends dad, Bob Munro, was diagnosed with Myeloma, a relapsing and remitting cancer which means that in time, the drugs used to control it become ineffective.
Bob's prognosis wasn't looking good in 2012 and it is the development of new drugs that has kept him alive. In 2012, he learned that 25% of patients last less than 2 years and only 45% make it to 5 years. 8 years on, Bob is still fighting the cancer and remains optimistic that the new drugs may soon lead to a cure as a result of these fundraising efforts!
18th July 2021
IRONBOURNE LONG DISTANCE TRIATHLON (3.8 km sea swim, 180.2 km cycle, and a 42.2 km run)
I have been in full training since September 2019 and believe me, to date it has been the most grueling thing I have done and I still have a LONG way to go!
Bob and other cancer patients are fighting on a daily basis and they need our help. Any donations however big or small would be massively appreciated.
