Story
I started this year excited to run the London marathon, selfishly with the aim of beating my PB (3.11).
Then on February 8th, Dad suffered a heart attack which resulted in a cardiac arrest at home, he was thankfully helicoptered to the Bristol Royal Infirmary, but he sadly passed away 5 days later.
This was a very sudden shock for us all. Although he partied until the final 48 hours and was doing something he loved (recycling) - he has the last laugh!
The Great Western Air Ambulance were fantastic, could not be faulted - and Dad would be proud that his last ever trip was in a helicopter! They are a fully volunteered charity and need to raise £4 million a year to keep going.
I have therefore changed my running plan - to now run / plod the marathon dressed as a chopper / helicopter to raise money for this epic cause which is now very close to mine, Els and Mum's heart.
Any money would be hugely appreciated, as we would really love to help anyone else in these dire circumstances.
As Dad would say 'You are mad Will'!
Love, Will x
