Message from Will -
On the 28th July just after my 29th birthday my life changed instantly. I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkins Lynphoma (blood cancer) which came as a real surprise as I didn't have symptoms apart from a being tired occasionally but who wouldn't with a 9 month old baby!
I had my first chemotherapy session on 21st August. I am having chemotherapy called ABVD which is very strong and can cause lots of different side effects. I have 6 cycles I have to do. With my chemotherapy the doctors have told me I can't go outside or even have a window open in the house because of catching fungal infections so the next 6 months is going to be really fun!
Before my chemo started I bought a treadmill to keep my self fit whilst I am having the chemo. I came across the 60 mile run in September fundraiser for Cancer research and thought I could give it a good go and see if I can set myself a goal of finishing it whilst having chemotherapy. My goal is to try and do 2 miles a day but I am sure there will be days where I will not be up to it so will have to make it up on days I feel fit enough to do it.
I am still in shock about what is happening to me and if I can help people in the future not go through what I have to go through then what more could you want!
Can you help me in supporting a good cause? I'm raising money for Cancer Research UK and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support. I've included information about Cancer Research UK below.
Together we will beat cancer.
