100 mile cycle and obstacle challenge

Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2017 · 30 July 2017 ·
As some of you may know, back in 2009 we lost our baby girl late in pregnancy. It was the most difficult period we have ever had to go through and every parents' worst fear; however, amazing support from my wife and family helped us through; since then it's been important to me to continue to support those who find themselves in such a nightmare situation and Bliss is an amazing charity that devotes its time and resources to looking after babies born too small, too sick or too soon.
Thankfully the dark-time passed and since then we were blessed with two beautiful children, Anna and Max. We will never forget our little girl and I hope you will give generously for this cause so close to my heart and in memory of our little one that did not make it.
This year - after having never even owned a bike in my life before January - I will be taking on the Surrey 100 mile bike challenge at the end of July. I'm hoping to complete the challenge somewhere between six and seven hours on my Cyclocross bike.
As if this wasn't enough - I will also be competing in the Men's Health Survival of the Fittest 10km obstacle race with a team from work in mid-July. As always, I promise to complete in fancy dress to help raise money and will post embarrassing video as proof of our efforts.
I know some of you have been kind enough to support my efforts in previous years. Over that time I also encountered an organisation called 'Always with a Smile'. The aims of this organisation really resonated with me so I am proud to also run on their behalf, these aims are:
1) To inspire and motivate people to do something they have never done before
2) To raise money for multiple charities and good causes
3) To make the world a happier place by putting a smile on the face of as many people as possible.
It's for these reasons I've been doing these crazy challenges over the years - usually involving miles of running, mud, and army/ninja warrior style obstacles - wearing a variety of ridiculous outfits. Please see my updates below for embarrassing pics!
I hope you'll support me in raising money for those born, too small, too sick, or too soon and maybe one or two of you will be inspired to join the 'Always with a Smile' ethos.
Thank you, your support means so much.
Tim
