Story
We (Wild Trekking Women) are completing the 26 Mile Trek across London to raise vital funds for the Alzheimer's Society.
Unfortunately due to COVID-19, the Hadrian's Wall Trek (13 miles) we were due to complete was cancelled, however we will not be defeated.
Never has it been so important to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer's Society. COVID-19 has had a significant impact on those living with or caring for those living with Dementia. There has also been enormous financial pressure on the Alzheimer's Society with gaps in funding as many events and fundraising has been unable to take place.
In our team, we personally know or have known someone living with or caring for someone living with Dementia. This first hand experience is spurring us on to complete this challenge. We are 4 months into our training and are determined to complete this challenge and hit our target. If London26 Trek is cancelled due to COVID-19 we pledge to complete the 26 miles on the day, in our own way.
The Alzheimer's Society is WTW company charity partner and they will match any employee contributions, which is fantastic. Therefore any WTW donations we receive we will ask our CSR team to match.
We would really appreciate your support, walking tips and donations.
Irem Yerdelen, Jo Coles, Philippa Pearce and Sharon Brett-Richards. #bringhopecloser
