Story
Welcome to the Wickes Lichfield Justgiving page.
A team of 8 colleagues will be undertaking the national 3 peaks challenge, an event in which we will trek the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
The walking team is made up of Steve Grimes, Will Hardy, Tom Lapworth, Lea Pointon, Jenny Smith, Kieran Bromley and Becky Harrison. Together we make up a mixed team of age and physical ability which makes us a unique group to take on this challenge. Our designated driver Ron Holmes will be keeping us moving from mountain to mountain which will be a challenge in itself driving around 1000 miles.
The 3 mountains the team has to complete are Ben Nevis, which is the highest of the three peaks at 1344 metres, Scafell Pike the highest mountain in England at 978 m, and Snowdon the highest mountain in Wales, at an altitude of 1,085 m.
The total distance to walk is estimated at 26 miles with a total ascent of 3,000 metres.
This will all be taking place on 21st and 22nd of June this year! We will be beginning our journey from the Lichfield store at 10am on the 21st and plan to be at Ben Nevis for 5pm that day. From here our challenge will begin and should be finished after completing Snowdon on June 22nd at 5pm.
This aim of this challenge is to raise money for leukaemia and lymphoma research, Wickes chosen charity partner.
With our team's hard work and dedication to this challenge we now need your help to make it all worth while, please give generously to support this cause we are working so hard for.
Thank you.
