We are Isobel, Kirsten, Joe and Mariam – 4 bright-eyed students from the University of Warwick with the shared goal of living with a purpose.
This summer, we’ll be embarking on a 6-week volunteering programme in Mpumalanga, South Africa with Warwick in Africa to co-deliver English and Mathematics lessons!
Why Warwick in Africa?
Warwick in Africa has the simple aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning in our partner schools, but it is so much more than that.
By bringing together teachers, learners, and students like ourselves, Warwick in Africa creates a multifaceted and dynamic learning environment to support a fulfilling future. It’s incredible to think that in the programme’s 16 years of operation, it has reached 130,000 learners and 5,000 teachers across sub-Saharan Africa.
To us, Warwick in Africa represents contributing to education that is international in its outlook. It represents a well-established and sustainable programme that is always improving to best cater to the needs of our teachers and learners. And most importantly, it represents the unique opportunity to reach out to those who have not had the same opportunities as us.
Please help us to raise £4,000 – these funds will go towards teaching resources and equipment, transportation, and our volunteering programme.
This is only the beginning of our journey, and with your support, we believe that we can make a tangible and lasting impact at every level of the programme😊
