HI! I'm Anaïs, a 32-year-old French librarian based in Glasgow.
So, here's the scoop – back in 2020, I had this grand plan to conquer the West Highland Way. Picture it: backpack packed, mind psyched up, body in top-notch form – I was all set for an epic adventure. And then, cue the dramatic entrance of COVID, putting my dreamy hill-walking escapade on an unexpected pause. Months went by, and I found myself locked indoors, yearning for those majestic landscapes.
But guess what? The wait is finally over, and I'm thrilled to announce that the project is back in action, full force! My friend and I are embarking on the West Highland Way adventure from the 18th to the 25th of May 2024. Yes, THIS very year! It's not just a personal challenge; it's also a chance to make a difference. I have decided to make every step count by collecting funds for the Simon Community charity along the way.
Why? Because they're doing incredible work supporting homeless people across Scotland. And here's the twist – we're focusing on a basic necessity that often gets overlooked: panties. Yep, you heard it right. We're on a mission to ensure that homeless women in Glasgow have access to this essential item, something so many of us take for granted.
The situation may sound amusing, but the reality is quite serious. Glasgow's streets house remarkable women dealing with homelessness, and the shortage of donated panties is a real issue. As we journey through the West Highland Way, we're not just tackling trails; we're taking on a vital cause.

Deja que te cuente la historia de como quise conquistar el West Highland Way de Escocia en 2020:
Mochila preparada, mentalidad de tiburón y un físico de Serresiete; todo estaba preparado para empezar mi aventura. Y, de golpe, aparición dramática del COVID-19, poniendo en pausa mi sueño senderista. Y pasarón los meses de encierro, con mi cuerpo dentro de casa, pero mi mente en los majestuosos parajes escoceses.
Pero, adivina... ¡LA ESPERA HA TERMINADO! Y estoy encantada de anunciaros de que mi proyecto ha vuelto a la vida, ¡a toda máquina!
Así que tengo noticias: del 18 al 25 de mayo de ESTE MISMO AÑO, mi amiga y yo vamos a ponernos las botas de andar y a conquistar el West Highland Way.
Esta aventura no es solo algo personal, ya que he decidido aprovechar cada paso y recolectar donaciones para la ONG Simon Comunity.
"¿Por qué?" os preguntaréis... La respuesta es bien sencilla, sé de primera mano el magnífico trabajo que hacen para ayudar a personas sin hogar en Escocia. Pero hay más, mis donaciones van a ir para una acción muy peculiar: bragas. Sí, exacto, bragas. La ropa interior es una necesidad muchas veces ignorada cuando queremos ayudar a las personas, y Simon Comunity trabaja incansablemente para remediarlo.
Puede parecer una broma, pero la situación es muy real.
Las calles de Glasgow acogen a muchas mujeres sin hogar, y la falta de ropa interior para ellas es un problema que se hace notar. Por ello, en nuestro camino, no solo lucharemos contra los elementos, sino también contra una injusticia social.
Juntos, seamos la diferencia que queremos ver. Apoya nuestra causa y nuestro viaje, pasito a pasito, braga a braga.

Bonjour ! Je suis Anaïs, une Française de 32 ans et bibliothécaire, installée à Glasgow.
En 2020, j'avais ce super projet de faire la rando du West Highland Way. Mon sac à dos était prêt, ma condition physique était plus ou moins au point, et mentalement, j'étais prête à embarquer pour cette grande aventure. Cependant, le destin en a décidé autrement avec l'arrivée du covid, mettant brutalement fin à mes rêves de montagnes et d'escapades. Je me suis retrouvée confinée entre les quatre murs de mon appartement.
Mais voilà, l'attente est enfin terminée et le projet est relancé ! Mon amie et moi sommes prêtes à arpenter les sentiers du West Highland Way du 18 au 25 mai 2024. Oui, cette année !
C'est à la fois un défi personnel et une opportunité d'aider les autres : tout au long du trajet, nous collecterons des fonds pour l'association "Simon Community".
Cette organisation vient en aide aux sans-abri en Écosse. Les fonds récoltés seront utilisés pour acheter des culottes destinées aux femmes sans-abri de Glasgow. Vous pourriez trouver cela inhabituel, mais les culottes sont des articles essentiels du quotidien qui, malheureusement, ne font pas l'objet de dons fréquents.
Alors, nous avons besoin de votre soutien pour ces huit jours où nous allons mêler courage et générosité sur les 153 km du West Highland Way, contribuant ainsi à améliorer le quotidien des femmes sans-abri.
