West Highland Way 2022

West Highland Way · 29 July 2019
Alison, Sarah and Steph bonded over running and living with MS via social media. Alison and Sarah have clocked several marathons and ultras with Steph's specialty being the half marathon. Alison and Sarah had previously trained for a 100km ultra across the Cotswolds together, but it wasn't until Easter 2019 that all three finally met together.
While exploring parts of the West Highland Way together, Steph shared her idea of running the whole way in 4 days - a little out there considering her longest run to that date was a half marathon (beaten that very day during what is now known as the WHW 'test run' which ended up being 26km). We got on so well that we decided to take on the challenge together and run the WHW in 4 days over Easter 2020...(now Easter 2022)
We decided to fundraise for Shift MS, a social network and support site for people with multiple sclerosis, an auto-immune disorder that attacks the central nervous system.
There are over 100,000 people in the UK who live with multiple sclerosis (MS), and around 100 people are diagnosed every week:
For every £1 Shift.MS spend:
🔹 39p goes to supporting MSers
🔹 35p goes to connecting MSers
🔹 20p goes to service innovation
🔹 6p goes to fundraising
