We care for veterans across Scotland to ensure the best possible quality of life

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Erskine cares for around 1000 veterans each year and relies heavily on donations from the public and fundraising efforts like this.
All money raised helps towards providing outstanding residential care to the men and women, who were prepared to put their lives on the line for us whilst serving in the Armed Forces.

To show our support, we have set ourselves an epic challenge of carrying out a 100 mile loaded march, starting from the Erskine Glasgow Home in the early hours of Friday 7th August, continuing - non-stop - along the route of the West Highland Way and finishing around 30 hours later in Fort William.

This is an endurance challenge that will test us physically and mentally, however, it's one we're willing to give our all for.
With your help, we can show our collective gratitude and support, to the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces, and with that, ensure they continue to receive the specialist care and support they deserve.

Dillon Thomson (18) is currently studying Engineering at Strathclyde University, with aspirations of joining the Armed Services after graduating. He is also currently under the watchful eye of the Training Wing staff at 4 Para (Reserves) in Glasgow.

Michael Downey (18) has just recently begun his military career and is serving with 2 Para, having recently passed his recruits course and the arduous P-Company.  He'll be the one setting the pace no doubt.

Stephen Dunn (46) previously served in the TA and has also witnessed first hand, the great work and professionalism of the staff at Erskine, where his uncle was a resident. He has been involved in other military-style fundraising challenges in support of Erskine, having completed a couple of load-carrying half-marathons.
