Story
A few weeks ago a group of us who work in the care system with young people decided we wanted to do something to help a local charity. We have chosen to do a sponsored walk/ bicycle Ride, Whittlesey to Peterborough, starting at 11am, those who cant walk can do the route via bicycle, and while looking at local charities came across Sports connection Foundation. consent/Application forms and sponsor forms can be obtained by emailing ms.j.seymour@hotmail.co.uk directly
Sports Connections Foundation was established in 2010, with the aim of using the power of sport to inspire, empower, educate and transform the lives of children and young people and are proud to have engaged with over 550,000 children and young people.
As a children's charity, Sports Connections Foundations are totally committed to raising aspirations and creating role models for the next generation and providing exciting exit routes and transforming communities.
Government, local services, schools and families face mounting problems and increasing pressure with and even greater dependency on Children's Charities. Their vision is to inspire young people to pursue their dreams and develop inherent potential.
SCF supports children in their formative years with a particular focus on transition, inclusion and young people who are facing the challenge on poor mental health, social isolation and economic deprivation. Their framework ensures that they cross both the education and community environments.
Aspects of what SCF deliver include:- mentoring sessions, positive play and therapeutic interventions, Theme positive Activity and School Holiday Programmes
