Story
Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls,
I shall be participating in the UKF Ice Hockey All Star Weekend for the second year in a row and once again I have the honour of representing the great charity, Help for Heroes. The All Star Weekend is an Ice Hockey tournament comprising of 6 teams (representing a charity per team), each with 15 players and 2 goalies. The participants range in all abilities from beginners to pros and is a great way for us to share our love for a great sport and support some fantastic causes while we are doing so.
UPDATE!!!: With the aim of raising more funds, I shall be causing myself more pain by also participating in the Berlin Roller Marathon on 28th September 2013. I shall be racing in roller hockey skates where others will be using speed skates. This was last years plan, but after playing the tournament on a broken ankle (not discovered until a week later) I was unable to do the roller marathon, so this year it's game on!
Last year, Team H4H came 3rd in the tournament, and 1st in the Socialising category, with the collective total from the teams being £14000 raised across the 6 charities. This year we look to make this even bigger. My personal total last year was £130, but I would love to smash that this year and hit my £250 target, maybe more. Please donate anything you can as every penny helps.
Thank you for your time,
James (Sid) x
