Story
Carers NI hold a special place in our hearts as they have been a source of invaluable support and advice to the families of some of the White Ink team. They provide expert advice, support and knowledge to families and loved ones caring at home; a support network through carers' groups and the facilitation of volunteers in the local community; and are campaigning for lasting change and greater understanding so that carers feel valued, supported and recognised for the huge contribution they make to our society.
Across the UK and Northern Ireland, there are 6.5 million carers supporting a loved one who is older, disabled or seriously ill - that is 1 in 8 adults who care unpaid for family and friends. Caring is such an important part of life. It is the foundation of our families and our society. Yet it can be a real struggle. It can be frightening and very lonely. Carers NI is there to listen, to give advice and support, to connect, to champion rights.
Please help us in our bid to make life better for carers by supporting us on Friday 15th June 2018 as we don our bandanna's, grab our oars and take to the high seas (the River Lagan) to race our Dragon boat! All treasure donations, great or small, will be hugely appreciated. Oooh argh me hearties!
