Our RNLI lifeboats in Yorkshire and the North East protect hundreds of communities through our 24-hour search and rescue service. They rely on the safest, most reliable lifeboats and modern stations to launch from.

Story

Our webcam is located on the north side of Whitby lifeboat station’s boathouse providing a unique view of the lower harbour towards the piers and sea.

It has a particular benefit as a safety feature allowing those intending to go to sea to obtain an idea of sea conditions before venturing off their moorings, a weather forecast and predicted tide times are also shown.

The webcam is accessible free of charge but any donations on this page towards the RNLI which, as a charity, is almost wholly dependent on the public’s generosity enables us to continue saving lives at sea.

We hope you liked the view and harbour activities and will return soon.

It has been a challenging couple of years and we have been busier than ever here in Whitby.  We haven't been able to to do our usual fundraising due to the pandemic but our crews and volunteers are working as hard as ever.

Thank you for your kind donation.
