Story
Hello Server 143,
Thanks for stopping by this page. As you have probably heard by now, WhistlinPig recently informed members of the DYN alliance that he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Despite having a good prognosis, the word cancer is very scary and nothing to take lightly. He had surgery today and will likely be unavailable in the coming weeks. We hope to see him have a full recovery and be back in action within a month or so.
Pig is not the kind of guy who likes to receive sympathy. But we at DYN thought in honor of him, we would start a fundraiser with the Throat Cancer Foundation, a Not-for-Profit organization based in the United Kingdom. TCF is an excellent organization that performs medical research on various forms of throat cancer and helps fund new and innovative technology to help eradicate the disease for patients worldwide. The funds collected here would specifically go towards the development of a media based campaign to help promote throat cancer awareness. As everyone knows, identifying cancer at an early stage only improves your survival rate. That is the whole purpose of the media campaign that is being developed. Pig was lucky enough to catch it early, and he'd like to see others be able to do the same.
What's interesting about this game we all play is that as time goes on, Server 143 becomes like a second family. For those of us that logon daily, we likely spend more time interacting with one another than some of our real life friends and of course family members. With that said, family takes care of one another in a time of need. Pig is an invaluable member of this server, and I believe it's safe to say he is more or less our server leader. He is incredibly selfless with the amount of time he gives and makes himself available to help people improve their game play on 143.
This is our chance to give back. None of the proceeds go directly to him, but will go directly to TCF in honor of him. With all that said, if you can spare a few bucks and are able to contribute we would absolutely appreciate it.
Thanks,
DYN Alliance
