Story

Update: 08/05/07

Well after 3 hours in Mosko, yesterday I emerged with a very silly haircut- the proof should be available above. As luck would have it, after several days of warm weather it was raining as I left and i got a cold head! Luckily the dye didn't run!

So those of you who wanted to see the evidence before donating, now's the time to click the button below! Huge thanks to everyone who has donated, and also to Lisa and all the staff at Mosko, North Bridge, who generously shaved and dyed my hair for free.

Update: 30/04/07

I've found someone to do the dirty deed! Mosko on North Bridge have very kindly agreed to shear and dye me for free :)

Should you want to get a less silly hair cut you can have a look at their website here:

You can even make appointments online- nifty!

In a break from my usual running-related charity fundraising attempts, this year I'm going to get a silly haircut in aid of the Red Cross, and I mean a *really* silly haircut. Much like the dog pictured- short and blonde, and with a red cross, though it'll be more like a Red Cros red cross than a St George's cross... Just think how silly that'll look! Worth your cash, I think...

So, other than getting to watch me looking really silly, shy should you donate? Well the Red Cross does some pretty important stuff for people all around the world- they helped POWs in WW2 and dozens of other conflicts since then, they've helped victims of natural disasters like the recent tsunami, they provide first aid cover at public events in the UK, lend wheelchairs, and a mulitiude of other things that most people don't think about until they need them.

I've been giving them my time (as a first aider) for the past couple of years, and I figure it's about time I heloed to raise some of the money it cost them to train me, give me uniform and so on. This year Red Cross Fundraising Week is May 7th-13th, so it seems like a good time to choose.

Donating is really easy, just click the button below, pull out some plastic and punch in the numbers. If you pay income tax, adding in your address means the Red Cross will also get the tax you paid on that money- so you get to give more money at no extra cost, and you get to pinch a bit back from the tax man :)

Thanks for your support- Photos will appear here once I've done the deed on the 7th!
