The Friends of PICU was set up in 2006 by parents of children on the PICU and PICU medical staff, who all wanted to give back to the PICU for future children and families.
Friends of PICU donates various equipment and services to provide potential lifesaving care for critically ill children.
In June 2020, our whole world was turned upside down when Harlee was admitted to Southampton PICU, having collapsed after complaining of a bad headache. Unfortunately, after days of testing and fantastic support and care from all the medical staff at the hospital, Harlee didn't recover and sadly passed away peacefully with his close family beside him. He was only 11 years old.
His Dad (Ryan) Uncle Chris and I are cycling from London to Brighton in Harlee's cherished memory and to raise as much money and awareness as we can for the staff and department that took care of Harlee and his family.
If you knew Harlee or you're inspired to help children and their families who need the care of the Southampton PICU, at the same time as sponsoring two completely amateur, slightly unfit and mouthy lads on bikes, please give generously in memory of our amazing boy.
