Story

On Saturday 20 November 2021, we are delighted to be joining churches from all around the UK in Tearfunds Big Quiz Night. Every pound we raise together will bring help and hope to people in desperate need, like Abigael. Abigael is a farmer and mother of five from Burkina Faso. She used to be able to rely on the rains to help her crops grow. But in recent years, Burkina Faso has suffered from recurring droughts. Abigael can no longer grow enough to feed and take care of her family. Tearfunds local partner is helping to turn her situation around, but more must be done. Around 80 per cent of people in Burkina Faso rely on farming for food and income. Yet because of the changing climate, 1 in 10 are now going hungry and need emergency help. Together, we can support some of the worlds most vulnerable communities to adapt to these new challenges and flourish. £18 could help someone like Abigael feed their family in a changing climate by providing tools, seeds and natural fertiliser.
