*ALL DONATIONS UP TO A TOTAL OF £1,000 WILL BE MATCHED BY AM SYSTEM LIMITED!*
24 hours.
10 Sunday league footballers.
3 peaks.
1 worthy cause.
In the early hours of Saturday the 21st May 2022, West Bridgford Knights FC will be getting ready for the away day of a lifetime. The lads will be heading west to take on the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge; a gruelling test of endurance that pits its participants to climb the highest peaks of Wales in less than 24 hours.
The 17 mile challenge will be undertaken as a fundraiser in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young, a charity that works to prevent sudden cardiac deaths in young people.
The charity’s cause is one that is close to home for both the Knights and the wider football community, following the untimely passing of Dylan Rich, a local youth footballer for West Bridgford Colts FC, after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest during an FA Youth Cup game in September 2021.
A total ascent of 2,334 metres lays in wait for the Knights, as they look to conquer Snowden, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan on their way to hitting a £1,000 fundraising target.
The challenge will be completed in partnership with official club sponsor Lesley Butlin, who will support the club in the planning and preparation for the big day.
AM System Limited, another business with close links to the club, have offered to support the fundraising efforts with a tremendous gesture to match any donations up to a total of £1,000, as well as paying for the club’s minibus hire.
In the club's last fundraiser, it was the support of the local community that pushed every single one of us all the way as we smashed our £750 target. This time, we want to go one better.
So once again, any support you can give for this enormously worthwhile cause will be hugely appreciated from everyone at West Bridgford Knights.
