El Capitan and Everest Climbing Challenge · 14 June 2017

We are working together to create a world world in which fewer children will need treatment for mental health problems by providing teachers, parents and carers with skills, support and resources.

Story

We've walked the world, we have walked Land's End to John O'Groats and now our biggest challenge yet - Climbing Mountains!

Individual staff members will be taking on the challenge of climbing El Capitan (Spanish for The Captain, The Chief) is a vertical rock formation in Yosemite National Park, located on the north side of Yosemite Valley, near its western end. The granite monolith extends about 3,000 feet (900 m) from base to summit along its tallest face and is one of the world's favorite challenges for rock climbers and BASE jumpers.

Teams of 4 will be taking on the challenge of trying to climb Mount Everest, also known in Nepal as Sagarmāthā and in China as Chomolungma, is Earth's highest mountain. Its peak is 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) above sea level. Mount Everest is in the Mahalangur Range. The international border between China (Tibet Autonomous Region) and Nepal runs across Everest's summit point.

The challenge starts week commencing 19th June and runs until 15th September.

£5 entry fee per person and all money goes to Partnership for Children
