Story
In partnership with Velo Domestique, we have united a team to cycle to the festival and raise money for the amazing Absolute Music Trust whilst they do it.
Local music charity Absolute Music Trust inject musical fun into the lives of people in the Dorset and Hampshire region by offering hands-on musical activities + fun workshops to individuals and groups; everyone from physically disadvantaged children to the elderly, from young carers to those struggling financially, from hospice patients to those with mental health issues and addictions.
The charity is split into two halves; one half focusses on keeping music alive in schools. We do this by delivering peripatetic music lessons in several schools across Dorset and providing funding for those parents who cannot afford lessons. For instance, a donation of £360 would allow us to provide a 20 minute music lesson across 30 weeks for a school child.
The other half of the charity delivers music workshops to enhance the lives of local people. These groups vary from children with physical disabilities or additional learning needs, such as Linwood and Montecute schools. We also work with looked-after children under the Virtual Schools group and run a songwriting therapy workshop with bereaved children in conjunction with the Mosaic Family Support charity.
Help us to raise funds for an essential cause, that will make a real impact on the local community. Thank you.
