Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! As many of you know, after suffering a seizure in August 2016, my husband Franco was diagnosed with a brain tumour. We were utterly shocked and totally bloody terrified! The bottom fell out of our lives as, over the next few months, Franco had more appointments and scans, and was diagnosed with epilepsy as a result of the tumour. Whilst the tumour was large, it was in the 'right place', and Franco had surgery to remove it just before Christmas. Fortunately, the tumour also turned out to be 'low grade', so whilst Franco needs regular scans for the forseeable future, he is one of the lucky ones to have come through the other side. Many people are not so lucky: brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer in the under-40s, yet just 1% of cancer research funding is spent on brain tumour research. It is simply not enough! Brain tumours are not genetic, they are not caused by life-style, they are not a sign of aging. They could affect any one of us at any time of our lives.
So this year, despite having been too injured to run for most of the summer, I'm going to do my very best to run 13 miles as quickly as I can, and raise as much money for Brain Tumour Research as I can in the mean time.
Even if you can only spare a pound or two, please sponsor me if you can! Thank you so much!!! ❤❤
