The Manchester Run is today
It really feels quite strange
I was just doing my bit for The Gem Appeal
Now everything has changed
The Manchester Run is more than fundraising
I just know that I want to be there
To be a part of Manchester
And show how much I care
The horrendous atrocity at The Arena
Will never go out of our minds
I will think of all the people affected
As I get ready at the Starting line
Innocent people slaughtered
When they were out and having fun
What sort of society have we created
Where that sort of thing is done?
Today I will think of all the families affected

Every step of the Manchester 10k

And will remember when I start to struggle
How lucky I am to be given this day.

The Gem Appeal charity is raising money to buy a Tandem Mass Spectrometer machine for Manchester Children's Hospital. Over £200,000 has been raised so far.To really make a change, we need to buy this machine sooner. Please help.
