We support over 3,500 people each year to provide the best of end-of-life care
Story
Anyone close to me will know that on February 11th 2017 my life changed forever when I sat with my mum whilst she passed away at North London Hospice. I can't truly describe the heartache that follows a tragic event like this. Mum was my rock, my counsel and there isn't a day that goes past when I don't wish things were different. I miss her every single day.
Mum was only 67 when she died and fought for nearly a year with the horrendous disease. In September last year mum was given the all clear and we thought we could go on with our lives again. Just a few weeks later we were given the news the cancer had spread to the brain and there was nothing they could do. It was devastating. Mum was kind, generous, would do anything for anyone, loved by so many. This disease sucks, I've watched so many of my family and friends struggle with it and now it's my time to stand up and be counted.
A friend of mine who lost her Dad last year has decided to run 30 races in a year and I'm going to join her! The only rule: the runs have to be official chip timed races. I'll be doing anything from 5k to marathon.
The North London Hospice have been amazing to my mum and to my family. I honestly don't know what would have happened if they hadn't been there for us. The work they do is tremendous and I want them to be able to carry on providing the amazing support and care for anyone else who has to go through this tragic disease.
If you can spare anything to help me achieve my target it would be appreciated. Even just a word of encouragement will help me power through this tough challenge.
Thank you.
