I am hiking up Ben Nevis at the end of June to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

It seems fate drew me to this event.  The appeal for volunteers appeared on one of the very few days I got a seat on the Tube and was able to read my paper.  The climb takes place while I am on my sabbatical and is three days before my big birthday.  I've never climbed a mountain, never been to Scotland, so I thought I'd sign up for this worthwhile cause.  It was two weeks later I learnt a friend has cancer and so it has given me all the more reason to achieve my goal.

Please help me to raise my target of £2,000 to help this wonderful charity supporting those with cancer and their families.
