Macmillan and York Racecourse have partnered together for over 50 years now to help support people living with cancer through a number of activities that have raised millions of pounds.
Story
The Macmillan Charity Raceday is the oldest and largest event of its kind in the country. In 2021 we celebrated our 50th anniversary and are very proud to have raised over £9 million for people living with cancer during that time.
Held every June, the highlight of our activities is Macmillan Ride of Their Lives race that sees 12 amateur jockeys ride down the famous Knavesmire course. Each year 25,000 spectators enjoy a day with us and cheer these brave riders on as they take on the challenge of their lifetime.
