Story
I am taking part in “The Two Castles Run”, a 10 kilometre run between two of England’s most beautiful castles, Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle and is taking place on Sunday June 10th 2012. I am doing this in memory of a wonderful lady, Cheryl Johnson, who sadly lost her fight against Breast Cancer last year. She was a brave and wonderful lady and fought a very long and courageous fight against this terrible disease and is sadly missed by those who knew and loved.
In the last few months of her life she had the tremendous help and support of the Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull and spent her final days there, where she was treated with extreme kindness and dignity.
Sadly this Hospice, which has for over 45 years provided first-class care to terminally ill patients and their families, is reaching the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced with a new hospice which is going to cost £7 million. The new Hospice will provide a wider range of care and support services, reaching more local people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. Your support will help them to provide expert care and a better quality of life to patients and their families in the community – completely free of charge.
On Cheryl’s sad passing a few of her friends set up a fundraising group for the Marie Curie Big Build called “Cherry’s Angels” and all of our fundraising is going to the Marie Curie’s Big Build Campaign.
So please dig deep into your pockets, your support would be very much appreciated by “Cherry’s Angels” and the Marie Curie Big Build Campaign.
Thank you
Wendy
