Story

Thank you for taking time to visit our Just Giving page.

We are entered as Team 148 on the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run 2018. Vehicles that can be used are the Standard-Triumph motor cars and derivatives built upto 1984. This is our second attempt at this two yearly event and once again we will be using our RMB Gentry Roadster, a 'special' based on a 1968 Triumph Herald.

The aim of the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR), is for about 140 teams, to drive approximately 2000 miles continually from Knebworth Barns in Hertfordshire to John O'Groats to Land's End then back to Knebworth Barns, in 48 hours.

This year the event will be held from Friday 5th October until Sunday 7th October. To successfully complete the event, we are setting off along with the other teams from Knebworth Barns on the Friday evening and then must visit numerous pre-arranged control stops to arrive back at Knebworth on the the Sunday evening.
There are also two breakfast stops built into the event, these being at John O'Groats and Lands End. To drive the 2000 miles in 48 hours no overnight stops are taken, therefore it will be necessary for each of us to share the driving. So whilst one of us is driving the other will either be navigating or sleeping in the passenger seat.

The event has had a charitable basis since 1990 and in the process has raised over £600000 for various UK good causes. Last time in 2016, the event raised over £90000 for Guide Dogs. For this RBRR, Club Triumph is hoping to raise a similar amount, pushing the total raised for UK good causes to over £700000! If you can, please support the event in it's attempt to raise some very much needed funds for Epilepsy Research UK.

Many thanks

Wendy & Alek
