Story
This year I lost two very important people in my life to cancer. In memory of them, and all those who are battling cancer I was honoured to be accepted for a charity running space for the London Marathon on behalf of Macmillan.
There’s around 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today, and more than 360,000 are diagnosed every year. People rely on Macmillan for help with paying bills, going through treatment, or with how they're feeling.
97% of their work is funded by people like us therefore any donation you can spare, whatever the amount, is truly appreciated. Every pound you donate helps to support those living with cancer. E.g...
- £33 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for 1 hour, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
- £104 could pay for 200 copies of The Cancer Guide - a booklet given to those who have recently been diagnosed to help them understand more about cancer, its treatment and the help available.
- £181 could provide emotional support to one person living with cancer for around 8 weeks.
- £417 could support our Cancer Information and Support team to run our Macmillan Support Line phone service for 1 hour. In this time, they could deal with 25 call and web enquiries.
Thank you with all my heart for supporting my fundraising :)
