Story
Thanks for visiting my page. It's so easy to take our hearts for granted. It's there beating away keeping us & our loved ones alive. And then...
...it can stop! Sometimes with no warning! That's what happened to my Dad & several of my friends' Mums & Dads. Their hearts stopped & suddenly they were gone. Whilst it may be 'a lovely way to go' in that it's quick, it's painful for us who are left behind.
But it's not all bad news. Thanks to the BHF my Mum lives a full life with a heart condition. And many others do too, for which I'm truly grateful.
So I'm exercising my heart (safely!) by extending my running & challenging myself to complete a Marathon on 12th November 2022 at Carver Barracks, Saffron Walden and hopefully not come last! Who needs toenails anyway? But...we all need our hearts.
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation remembering my lovely Dad & to say "THANK YOU for my lovely Mum". I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thank you so much.
