Story
I am taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon as part of team RBLI, I am fundraising for RBLI as they provide care, support & employment to the Armed Forces community, disabled people & disadvantaged communities. The work they do is truly inspiring, helping our service men and women who serve and protect us to overcome huge difficulties in their lives.
My Dad was in the Royal Navy and growing up the British Legion was very important to us. As kids we helped to sell poppies door to door and attended Remembrance Day services where my big brother proudly played the Last Post on his trumpet every year. Then off to the pub for a few drinks, us kids out back in the pub family room with lemonade and crisps !
I only started running at the start of lockdown in March 2020 and somehow seemed to have caught the running bug, even though I’d said for years that I hated running !
I feel very honoured to take on this half marathon challenge and raise money to help the military again, in memory of all the work my late Dad and Mum did for the British Legion.
Thank you to everyone for your support, I know the Royal British Legion Industries are so grateful for your donation, no matter how small, every bit adds up, just like my running steps, every one ultimately I hope will get me over the finishing line XXX
