So my brother Denver and his friend Richard are heading off in September to climb Mt Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, Africa! Standing at 5895 metres above sea level, it will be an awesome accomplishment and a once in a lifetime experience reaching the summit! (I think I’m doing well climbing good old Slieve Donard here in NI 😅). 

They will begin the hike on 10th September making their way through the rainforests to get to the Northern circuit, one of several routes available for climbers but one of the more solitary ones. Their hike will take them 8 days in total, allowing time for acclimatisation, to reach the summit and trek back down again.

I am delighted Denver & Richard are using this as an opportunity to raise funds for the MS Society! As someone who lives daily with Multiple Sclerosis, I am very grateful for this charity and for all they have helped me with over the years since my diagnosis!
