Story
Welton St Mary's CofE Primary Academy are incredibly excited to be taking part in Rudy's run on Friday 11th December 2020.
Rudy’s Run is all about school children having festive and educational fun whilst raising much needed funds for St Barnabas Hospice, an incredible charity that's very close to our heart.
Each child will receive a free pair of antlers and red nose to wear as they run, walk or even prance and they get to take them home to use for their own Christmas festivities!
St Barnabas Hospice is renowned for its outstanding end-of-life care for adults, but they also provide pre and post bereavement support for families too. This invaluable support is free for anyone in Lincolnshire who is struggling with loss, and more work is being done right now at St Barnabas to create a specialist bereavement service for children as young as five.
Losing a parent, sibling or grandparent can be extremely traumatic for a child, but it is something which one in thirty children are going through each day. Rudy’s Run has been designed by St Barnabas to highlight their bereavement support and to continue funding it throughout their toughest year to date.
Welton St Mary's have set up this JustGiving page to collect sponsorship money from family, friends and supporters. We would be so grateful if you would consider sponsoring your child and sharing our link to help out such a wonderful hospice. However, if you would like to make a cash donation instead please send this in an envelope and drop it in the box provided at the entrance to school at the beginning or end of the school day marked 'Rudy’s Run'.
Rudy’s Run is all about inclusivity and will be a great way for the children to come together and make a real difference to people across Lincolnshire who use the hospice services.
I hope you will support your child and our school in this fundraising event and help boost the our fundraising total to give patients and their families at St Barnabas Hospice a joyful Christmas.
