Story
Hello Everyone I'm back and better than ever
Some people may know I did a 20 mile walk from Shrewsbury to the Wrekin and then back to Shrewsbury which was an amazing challenge for me. With your guys support I managed to raise 950 pounds to date which is amazing and the support was so overwhelming.
As many will know I hit a crisis in my life in November and attempted to take my life but Mind came into my life and allowed me to open up and speak about my feelings. It showed me that mental health is such a big problem, often not talked about and lots of people including me hide away how they are feeling, Education, support and raising awareness of these issues is key in getting the support people need and including me shows that you are not alone.
After my walk I was astounded by how much support I received - so Thank you. My campaign prompted others in similar situations to reach out to me and I received lots of messages asking for advice, I am no expert in Mental Health but it allowed me to signpost others to the correct support, and also take away those feelings of loneliness. This support really did pick me up in my life and show me there are people out their who care, it takes a lot of courage to admit you need help and to ask for it, this is something I often encourage people to do.
So what can I do now ? I've not just done this one walk I am setting myself another challenge to continue to raise awareness and donations for MIND. 20 Miles was tough but double the distance , a more difficult challenge. So, I am heading off alone from Cardigan to Aberystwyth along the Ceredigion Coastal path, 45 miles in total ! Over two days, 22.5 miles per day , that's 8 hours of walking each day, I know I can do this, I have the support of my family and friends like you do when you are finding things tough. Watch out for the updates 13th-14th July 2022.
Lets show people that they can do this and they're not alone in their battles, I personally understand how hard it is to wake up everyday and get out of bed whilst fighting your thoughts and I'm so proud that you're persevering and carrying on whilst sometimes it is an impossible task to put one foot in front of the other, keep going you've got this and I will keep going for 45 miles to show that support is out there for you, it helps you can always reach out to me, you are not alone.
