Story
Our love for Jess is testament to the incredible impact she had on us and everyone who met her. It seems almost impossible to do the real essence of Jess justice; loving, loyal, highly talented, excoriatingly funny, she was an absolute light in our lives. Emotionally sensitive and highly astute, Jess loved and supported her friends with everything in her. In turn we loved her with a passion that underlined everything good in this world, everything wonderful about being human.
Seeing and being with Jess was a better day. She was the sister you would have chosen, the friend you adored spending time with, the rock solid support who understood the fabric of life and life’s emotions. Jess made us laugh uproariously, advised, counselled, comforted, supported and loved, even during her darkest of times.
Watching Jess develop into the passionate, excellent barrister we always knew she would be (cue excellent story about her early argumentative skills at school “I don’t smoke Benson and Hedges so those cigarettes cannot be mine”) putting her heart and soul into life, at times when her own battle exhausted her, was an inspiration to her bravery.
Jess was a strong advocate for many people and many things and none more so than mental health and the mental health of others. It is therefore fitting and right that Jess’ family have requested donations in her memory to be made to MIND, the mental health charity. There is no doubt that Jess would want others to be helped, supported and cared for in the way that she gave so much to us. She would not want to let others fall.
Please share this in honour of our beloved Jess and her amazing legacy.
Darling Jess. We love and miss you beyond words.
“Be kind, always”
