Story
Hi, I’m Susan Docherty and I work in the Music Department at
Wellington School. I am having my hair cut on November 3rd to raise money
to support our S6 charity this year, which is Alzheimer Scotland.
It’s a big thing for me to do this, as I’m more afraid of having my hair cut than most people are of the dentist. In fact, the last time I had my hair cut in a salon was about 9 years ago! Also, those who know me will tell you that I’m more of a “behind the scenes” person, so to have my hair cut in public is an equallyterrifying prospect!
I would be most grateful of your support and any donation will help our S6 to raise money for this year’s S6 charity, Alzheimer Scotland, the country’s leading dementia organisation. They campaign for the rights of people with dementia and their families, and provide an extensive range of innovative and personalised support services.
As well as seeking to raise much needed funds for Alzheimer Scotland, I will be donating the hair I have cut off to the Little Princess Trust, an organisation which makes real-hair wigs, free of charge, for children with cancer. On last measurement, I will be having over 40cm of hair cut (about 1ft 3 inches!).
Thanks again for your support and wish me luck!"
