Gary's Story - Why am I running for the Well?
My journey with The Well started around 8 years ago, after I moved to Leamington from leaving a drug rehab in Wales.
I started going to The Well for weekly prayer and then after a while became a volunteer, preparing the Pump Rooms for The Well's prayer sessions, This led to helping with 'Listening to God' events and cooking at mens' breakfasts.
During this time, I was looking for employment and finding it difficult due to my criminal record. The Well heard of a possible opportunity at a local church which I applied for and got the job - my first ever job at the age of 28!
Since then I have gone on to get a diploma in Health and Social Care, an area in which I worked in for four years.
Most recently, I have worked for Coventry Diocese working with young adults and I also run a café for Helping Hands, another local charity .
During this journey I have also met and got married to an amazing woman.
The prayers, help and encouragement of The Well Team have been an important part of my story.
The Well is open every week and their Team offer free prayer to anyone that needs it. They do a great work for God in the community.
As a charity, The Well relies on donations to continue its work.
That is why I am running for The Well.
Please can you sponsor us in raising money through this half marathon for expansion of The Well's ministry to bless others.
