Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On April 7th 2024 I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Tourettes Action.

This will be my second time running a half marathon and I am aiming to smash my of 2hrs 20mins from last year!

As many of you will know, our Son Jacob was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome around 4 years ago. A condition we have since found out there is so little help and support for. Thats why I will be running for Tourettes Action as they have been very helpful with various advice and guidance to try and help Jacob as well as helping us as parents to try and deal with the condition. They need all the donations and help they can get to continue with research into the condition.

Tourettes is a Neurological condition which has a massive impact on Jacobs life. He is constantly ‘ticcing’ with a variety of vocal and motor tics which many of you will have witnessed first hand. The frequency of them can be anything from every 30 seconds to every 5 minutes dependant on things such as his emotions, the environment he is in and if he is concentrating etc. fortunately for Jacob he takes them all in his stride and trys not to let then effect him and luckily at the moment has received very little in the form of bullying about them which we hope continues as he moves up to Secondary school!

Myself, Holly, Jacob and Tourettes Action would be really grateful of any donations you could spare. I will keep you all updated with training updates and sweaty pictures on social media!

Cheers, Webbo
