Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I am running the Great North 10K on the 23rd June, riding the team time tiral stage of this years Tour de France on the 30th June, running a 5K at Newcastle's gay pride and have the honour of captaining the Prostate Cancer UK at this years UK ofrum All-Satrs ice hockey tournament in Sheffield.
I was aiming to complete the 10K in under 50 mins, which I thought would be a struggle given the amount of training I'd put in, however I completed it in 44:38, placing me 350th out of 4,000.
The TTT stage at Le Tour and my first ever time trial, which I rode on a road bike rther than a TT bike. I completed the 25km course in 36:27 averaging 24.5 mph. This was tough given that it was 25 degrees C on the start line. The day after I hired the bike again and climbed the Col de Eze and the Col de la Madone which is the hardest climb I've ever climbed. The 13km climb took me over 59 minutes and was 14% in places. It was 31 degrees C at the top.
Still to come is the 5K in Newcastle this Friday (hoping for under 20 mins) and the main event, captaining the Prostate Cancer UK team at this years Forum All Stars event in Sheffiled the weekend after.
