Story
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
This is a charity that has become very close to our hearts since the birth of our gorgeous baby George who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis soon after birth. George was born with meconium ileus which was detected during pregnancy. Two days after George was born his bowel perforated and he became seriously unwell. After major surgery to save him this resulted in an ileostomy which meant he had a stoma, George ran into some difficulties 5 weeks later with his stoma, this meant stoma closure had to be earlier than intended. Our little warrior defied all odds after closure and made a quick recovery. Our brave boy is almost 3 months old now and doing great, we hope this will be our first of many fundraisers.
Thank you for donating to Cystic Fibrosis Trust and helping to fight for a life unlimited.
