Story
It seemed like a good idea at the time-signing up for a big challenge for 2016. Now you all know that Wayne and I are not exactly racing snakes, so doing 100 miles on a bike is a pretty big deal. Even after training for this it will likely take us around 8 hours of cycling if we are lucky! I managed to get a place in the ballot - but Wayne didn't. But we're in it together and we agreed whoever didn't get in the ballot, would ride for charity and that we would both raise funds together. So here we are, raising money for the most amazing Marie Curie organisation. And here's why... over to Wayne...
As some of you may know I lost my Dad, referred to by many as Mr J, in 2005 to the Big C, I witnessed at first hand the care and compassion of the nurses that helped both him and my mum in the final days... truly amazing people. They are a charity and receive no official funding. In a way we would like you to help sponsor a charity that we hope you will never have to use.
So what are we doing for the charity? 100 miles.... perched on road bikes with tiny seats with our large derrieres... need I say more? Following the 2012 Olympic road course... long distance with some massive hills. We are training hard, twice in the week, and a long session at the weekend with gym and yoga sessions slotted in when we can.
Any support you can give will be massively appreciated.
