Story
Whenever my boys return home with a balloon they go into the garden and send it up to heaven for their little friend Maisie. They have done this ever since Maisie was taken from us a little over a year ago; she was just 2 years old. Maisie was a gorgeous little girl who filled every room she ever entered. My boys where mesmerised by her whenever they where together, she seemed to have that effect on everyone and when she left she took with her a little piece of everyone she ever met.
Maisie was tragically taken from her adoring parents in May 2011 after contracting Meningococcal Septicaemia. I can’t begin to think how they must feel, my mind won’t let me even imagine being in their shoes. Meningococcal Septicaemia is a cruel disease which too often robs families of that that is most precious.
This year I’m running the Great North Run to raise funds for the Meningitis Research Foundation. The foundation conducts research and creates awareness to improve survival rates as well as providing support to those affected by Meningitis. Please donate anything you can in memory of our borrowed angel Maisie in order to help in the fight against Meningitis.
