Story
I have decided to take on a huge challenge by returning to marathon running and undertaking the Birmingham Marathon in October 2017 in memory of Aid. I knew Aid as his daughter is in my partners sons class at school.
Aid was forever inspiring people through his career in outdoor education doing extraordinary things to enrich peoples lives. He continued to inspire people after his diagnosis of brain cancer in October 2015 with the way he fought a huge battle and remained positive even when he was left paralysed and unable to walk in December 2015. He spent the last 6 months of his life in Mary Stevens Hospice who provided essential care, love and support not only for him but for his whole family and passed away in July 2016. His family are eternally grateful to the hospice for everything they did to give Aid quality of life in his final months.
This will be my last marathon and I hope you will help me make it a worthwhile one for me personally and for Mary Stevens Hospice.
