Story
Over the next 8 weeks up to his 18th birthday our son Will, who has profound learning difficulties, autism and a visual impairment, will challenge himself to complete a mini-triathlon.
Will aims to swim 2 miles at Risca Leisure Centre, walk 60 miles and cycle 40 miles around Pontcanna Fields using Pedal Power Cardiff's fab trike-bikes, all in aid of the Sparkle charity based at Serennu Children's Centre in Rogerstone, Newport.
For ten years Will has benefitted from the charity on a weekly basis and as he turns 18 in November and transitions to Adult Services we wanted him to give something back to this amazing charity which supports children and young people with disabilities and their families, ensuring they are fully supported and able to participate in valued childhood experiences, just like any other child.
We would be extremely grateful for any donation you can provide in sponsoring Will which will undoubtedly be put to good use by the charity in enabling other such wonderful children to shine.
Sparkle supports children in South Gwent with a disability and/or developmental difficulty. Around 500 children visit the Serennu Centre every week for treatment, support and care. It is the only facility of its kind in the UK where children and families can access medical and holistic services from under one roof. Please consider making a donation to Sparkle. In doing so, you will be helping transform the lives of hundreds of local children. Life isn’t easy for many of them, but we can help. Please donate today and help a child sparkle.
