Story

We - Izzy, Patrick, Harriet, Claudia, Henry, Nick and Tom - are running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on Sunday 28th May in aid of the Scottish Cot Death Trust.

The Scottish Cot Death Trust works to prevent the sudden unexpected death of babies and young children. We (Izzy, Patrick, Harriet and Claudia Watson) have chosen this charity in memory of our parent’s first child, and our older brother, Callum, who died aged 16 months in 1993.

In the UK, around 200 babies die suddenly and unexpectedly every year. Charities like the Scottish Cot Death Trust provide vital support to bereaved families and fund research to better understand - and ultimately prevent - sudden infant deaths.

We are aiming to raise £1200 for SCDT, so any contribution is welcome. As well as this page, we are hoping to hold a pub quiz in Glasgow some time in April - please keep an eye out for further updates.

If you aren’t in a position to contribute financially we would really appreciate it if you could share this page with your friends and family. Thank you for reading!

About the campaign

Please give your support to help make a difference to families devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of a baby or young child.

About the charity

Every 9 days in Scotland a baby or child will die suddenly and unexpectedly - many of their families will never know why they died. As the only charity in Scotland dedicated to the issue of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI), we provide support, education resources and fund research.
