Story
My late father Gulam Choudhury passed away on the 11th Ramadan (Monday 4th May 2020). He was bedbound for the last 23 years due several stokes and heart attacks. Even while he was unwell in the beginning he still use to make effort to go to his local Mosque with support of family and friends.
My father worked hard all his life and held three jobs at the same time in order to raise his children. My father was from the first generation and was 80 years old before he passed away.
He was known in the community for his kindness, gentleness and being light hearted with everyone especially the youth. He used to make my friends laugh and they used to enjoy his company. If you were someone new in the community he would welcome you with kindness and food. He was down to earth and very relatable to everyone young or old.
He was someone dedicated to his family and we want to build two water wells in his memory in Malawi (Africa) so he can continue to benefit others and bring ease and joy in their lives by giving them the gift of water.
We still remember his smile and warm character. We pray that we are reunited with him again in the next life. We pray this act of charity is a witness for him in the hereafter.
