WaterAid Scotland Munro Challenge 2022
Campaign by WaterAid (RCN 288701 (England and Wales) and SC039479 (Scotland))
Tackle one of Scotland's Munros on Saturday 4 June 2022 and help to bring clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to communities in Malawi.

Story

I am leading Scottish Water's Munro Challenge 2022 to raise money for WaterAid projects in Malawi. My team will be climbing Ben Cruachan and Stob Daimh in Argyll on June 4 2022. Other Scottish Water teams will be tackling the rest of Scotland's 3000ft+ Munros.

I visited Malawi as a supporter to see the impact not having water has on people in one of the world's poorest countries. I also saw the difference it makes when people can access clean water and sanitation.Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good. With clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, children are born healthier. They get the chance to go to school and grow up to become adults. Women and men get to earn a living. Whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal and it should be.
