Story

My Dad, who died at the end of April 2022, was the kindest, nicest person. And if you've been pointed to this page, then you probably already know that.

I was inspired by the avalanche of lovely things people have said about Dad to do something in his memory that will make a positive difference. And that's why I'm asking for your help. I've signed up to run the Brighton Half Marathon on 26 Feb 2023 and started training for it, having never previously run more than 5km (that's 3 miles and 188 yards in old money).

This is the page raising money for St Michael's Hospice in Hastings. I also have a page raiding funds for Martlets Hospice in Brighton. I'm raising money for the hospice movement because it's so important, and - as has always been the case - hospices mostly exist from fundraising, donations and legacies (I'm leaving some for them in my will too).

Please donate what you can, but not at the expense of other important things. I know that, in these tough times, lots of us are giving any leftover funds to the foodbanks that are saving lives right now - don't stop doing that! But do give what you can, and I'll do my best for you, and for Dad.
