Story
On the 13th of July i am going to attempt Everesting to raise funds for Cure Leukaemia.
Everesting is described as fiendishly simple, yet brutally hard. Ride hill repeats on any hill anywhere in the world (or on Zwift) in a single activity until you climb the equivalent height of Mt. Everest.
The total elevation gain is 29,029 feet - roughly the cruising height of a passenger plane!
I don't know how many have tried and failed, but just over 8000 Everesters have succeeded Globally.
Anyone who has ever cycled will know that even the smallest incline can be tough going, so i am not expecting this to be easy whatsoever!
Additionally, the 13th of July is a special day for me personally as its my Mum's Birthday. Sadly, she passed away unexpectedly earlier this year having contracted Corona Virus.
Completing the challenge on her birthday and raising money for a fabulous charity at the same time feels like a day well spent.
Every penny I raise will go towards funding specialist research nurses at 12 blood cancer centres across the UK who connect patients with the latest treatments through clinical trials.
Cure Leukaemia is one of the leading charities in the world supporting the development of new drug and transplant treatments for patients with blood cancers.
Support me and help to take the gamble out of blood cancer survival.
